The Sustainable Oil Program was designed to consolidate the individual reverse logistics actions for post-consumption edible oil taken by edible oil manufacturers in a single platform.

Created in the end of 2012 and coordinated by Abiove, one of the main functions of the program is to be a communication channel with consumers who wish to learn more about the importance of recycling and proper waste disposal.

The program also aims to provide environmental education and raise awareness on the correct storage and disposal of used cooking oil at Voluntary Delivery Points (PEVs). The mapping of these locations is key to help consumers know which point is closest to where they live. In addition, the program disseminates the benefits of oil recycling for the environment and population well-being.

The Brazilian Association of Vegetable Oil Industries - Abiove - represents vegetable oil industries, striving to create value for them and promote their industrial processes and products: soybean, soybean oil, soybean meal and biodiesel.
