The Social Fuel Seal is a certificate granted by the Ministry of Agriculture (MAPA) to biodiesel plants that purchase a minimum percentage of raw materials and inputs produced by family farming out of their total acquisitions and provide technical support and rural extension to farmers. Through this policy, family farmers receive instructions that lead to higher productivity, execute sales agreements and also receive an additional financial support.
Purposes
Offer the benefits of the National Program for the Production and Use of Biodiesel to family farmers.
Integrate the production of oilseeds, vegetable oils, live animals and animal fats into the biodiesel production chain.
Promote the production of biodiesel raw materials with the highest standards of agricultural technology and compliance with legislation.
Create jobs in the countryside and foster regional development through the acquisition of family farming products and the provision of goods and services in the region.
RenovaBio is a state policy that aims to outline a joint strategy to recognize the role of all types of biofuels in the Brazilian energy matrix, both for energy security and for reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.

Contribute substantially to the fulfillment of Brazil's Nationally Determined Contributions under the Paris Agreement.
Promote adequate expansion of biofuels in the energy matrix, with emphasis on the regularity of fuel supply.
Ensure predictability for the fuel market, leading to energy efficiency gains and reduction of greenhouse gas emissions in the production, trading and use of biofuels.
