ABIOVE and Agrosatélite evaluated the soy expansion in the Cerrado biome in the last 20 years. This scientific work has high accuracy and uses sophisticated geospatial technologies to generate knowledge on Cerrado’s dimension and the soy evolution dynamic in this biome. This most recent analysis shows that soy expansion in the Cerrado over native vegetação dropped from 13% in 2001-2007 to 3% in 2014-2021, which means that 97% of the oilseed expansion were over already cleared areas before 2014 in the last seven years.
It can be affirmed that we have the lowest deforestation rate related to soy of the last 20 years, and it keeps dropping crop after crop.
